OUTLAW69's name has a history. Brendan and I (Glenn) were in a creative rut. Sometimes writing songs in the studio, or at home, can be uninspiring. We decided to rent a cabin for a weekend in Woodstock, NY. We wanted a change of scenery to clear our heads and a different space to create songs.
While walking through the town of Woodstock we ran into this beat up truck with the license plate "OUTLAW69." It was a stark contrast to the vibe and feel of being in Woodstock. It got us wondering. Who is this person? What are they like? Why are they here? We wondered if there was a deeper meaning behind the plate.
We went back to the cabin and wrote this song, among others. OUTLAW69 is more then just a quirky name. It captured our interest, maybe even inspired us in some small way. The music of this song is who we were, locked in a small cabin in Woodstock, NY. Steaks getting up to room temperature in the kitchen. Ava and Katelynn in the dining room putting together a puzzle. Pedals on the floor, coffee table, and everywhere else. Two cans of San Pellegrino (Blood Orange of course). It's all a snapshot of that moment for us.
lyrics
I wanna go back
I wanna make you stay
And if I die, will the reel replay?
Just let me daydream
I'm turning into someone that I used to know
A tired, broken, failure holding on
It's hard to love the person that I've become
When fantasy is gleaming back at me
I'm no good at goodbyes
Everything ends, so why try?
The only thing keeping me alive
Is my overwhelming fear of dying
Things can never be the same
Medicate and mask the pain
Close your eyes and dream again
The light behind your eyes will fade
impossible to tire of this endlessly brilliant and beautiful album. thanks guys!! can't wait for a reprint of the t-shirts, definitely need one here! bensonbear
The title track pulled me into Slow Crush's orbit, but Tremble held me there - alongside Lull from the Hush LP and the whole of Seasurfer's Dive In, it can send me into an altered state of consciousness. The album vibrates with hints and nudges, from Slowdive twangs to a Corgan-esque chord shift, but Slow Crush are their own sound - thick, dark melodic, etherealistic soundscapes with Isa Holliday's vocals both binding the music and rising above it. One of the best bands in years. sentientpoet

Shoegaze ist die Kunst des Dröhnens, doch „Everything Is Alive“ setzt diese Elemente nur sparsam ein. Statt Hall- und Zerr-Sounds aufzutürmen, schäumt die Musik in feinen Bläschen über.
